Bluenose Law is committed to supporting articling students on their journey to becoming lawyers. Each year, we welcome students to gain hands-on experience, develop their skills, and grow within our firm. Many have continued their careers with us as junior associates.
At Bluenose Law, our Articling Program provides students with hands-on experience across major areas of law. Throughout the year, students are encouraged to explore their interests while receiving support to refine their skills. Our open-door policy fosters a collaborative environment where senior associates and partners offer guidance every step of the way.

Dustin is a passionate and dedicated family law lawyer with over a decade of experience helping clients navigate life’s most challenging moments. Born and raised in Southern Alberta, Dustin’s life was shaped by his love for football, where he proudly won a National Championship with Team Alberta. This experience shaped his approach to both life and law, instilling in him a competitive spirit and a drive to always strive for the best outcome
A transformative moment in Dustin’s life came on March 31, 2022, when he became a father to his son, Daxten. The joys and challenges of parenthood have shaped his perspective and made him a more compassionate and empathetic advocate for his clients. He relishes being a supportive, loving parent, and his experiences as a father continue to deepen his understanding of family dynamics—an invaluable asset in his family law practice.
Dustin’s co-parent is from Bridgewater, and they both decided to relocate to Nova Scotia to continue raising Daxten, where they can benefit from the beauty and pace of life that this province has to offer.
Throughout his career, Dustin has argued before all levels of Court in Alberta and looks forward to continuing to build his expertise in Nova Scotia law. His approach to family law is rooted in the belief that reasonable settlements should always be pursued when possible. However, when settlement is not achievable, Dustin is fully prepared to litigate passionately and advocate vigorously for his clients’ best interests.
